Company History
The idea was conceived in 2000 by Norwegian trauma medicine specialist Einar Gunnarson, Senior Supervisor Medtec, Rune Fensli and biomedical/technical expertise. Development has been ongoing from WPR Medical was founded in 2003.

2003: A prototype of the ECG sensor was developed, demonstrating the wireless design principles.
2004-05: A new and improved sensor and receiver was developed, and lab-tested.
2006-07: Clinical trials on patients undergoing “Holter recorder” arrhythmia investigation.
2007: Industrialization of the concept in a modern design.
Clinical trials have successfully been carried out according to a defined research protocol, supported by the Research Council of Norway. The new sensor and receiver have been developed, prototypes have been constructed and the equipment has been tested according to international standards and to conform to CE.

Arendal, Norway is an ideal location for developing new medical technology. We have our own cardiology department with a highly specialized medical staff at the SSA hospital and an extensive electronic industry as well as Agder University as close partners.

Continuous Event Recording
Curvus wireless technology analyses recorded ECG signals in real-time and detects irregular cardiac events, which instantly are transmitted to the physician for follow-up. All recordings are stored for later download and off-line analysis facilitating a broader examination procedure. Possibility of correlating arrhythmias and physical activities.

The Curvus System
The Curvus System consists of a wireless sensor, a receiver and a data suite together with an underlying infrastructure which can be provided by Curvus or an independent 3rd party supplier.

Curvus ECG Sensor
The Curvus ECG sensor is small disposable “electronic electrode” with a convenient design. The sensor is easy to use, with a positive patient satisfaction, and less discomfort than with existing recorders, enabling the patient to carry out daily life activities in his own environment. The sensor can operate for 72 hours without any user interaction, and has incorporated a short range wireless radio continuously communication with the Curvus receiver.

Curvus Receiver
The Curvus Receiver is a handheld device receiving a continuous data stream from the wireless sensors for permanent storage and analysis of irregular events. Data can be transmitted through open standards to underlying infrastructure via GSM/GPRS, Bluetooth or a wireless network, making the system easy to integrate in the medical market today.

Curvus Software Suite
The Curvus Software Suite is a computer software package containing applications for working with the Curvus Receiver and viewing the recorded data. When configuring the Curvus Receiver, the medical personnel are guided by wizards. Recorded data can be exported to analysing software systems

Ultragel Kft (LLC) was established in 1998, 100 % of its shares are held by a Hungarian owner. The Company’s founder, Mr Balázs Komáromy has created this company with the purpose of producing contact gels, register papers and a stock of supplies for the Hungarian and for the international medical market.

The ultrasound- and ECG-gels produced and marketed by us on the basis of our own formula and on the individual production technology we developed are well known and widely distributed all over in Hungary and also on the international market.

The excellent quality of the products is acknowledged in many countries around the world, since Ultragel’s products are present in Asia, Africa and South-America as well. Ultragel’s expansion on the world market is represented by the establishment of daughter companies like Asia Ultragel Co. Ltd in 2006, with the purpose to also satisfy the demand of the Asian region. The easier meeting of the market needs in Africa, resp. the Near-East is realized by the mediation of our partner company in Alexandria.

Proper product quality is ensured through applying precise production technology and strict controls, based on a closed production system and on a continuously developing equipment park. Digital PH-measuring, computerised viscosity control and digital water quality examination also assure best production level.

In compliance with our traditions our goal is to provide our customers with top quality services, also meeting the high quality standards of the 21st century, represented by the applied ISO-9001 quality assurance system and by the licence to use the CE quality mark.

They can undertake the planning and construction of consulting rooms, their own metal and wood furniture manufacturing section is functioning for the production of individual and run furniture.

This expansion offers us better infrastructure and the chance to begin with the production of our new product line,called “OP” – being in the final phase of authorization – and to introduce the same on the market within short. This new product line includes different types of disinfectants and germ-killers for the use of health service employees.

The offer of the new product line includes the following products: liquid soap, antiseptic lavatory, washing gel for operations, equipment disinfectant, surface disinfectant,skin germ-killer, quick germicide, germ-reducing lavatory and cream.
